Karnataka election results 2018: Counting of votes begins,


the Congress registers a win in the Karnataka elections, the Siddaramaiah-led government will buck the trend of incumbents being voted out of power since 1985. A victory will also help party president Rahul Gandhi boost Congress morale ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections after a string of poll defeats in other parts of the country. Exit polls have predicted a close contest between the ruling Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
